I incorporated this unit in a homemade device to keep animals off a feeder. It is simple and works like a champ. Of course, I had to shock myself multiple times to determine if it would really work and yes, there’s a bite to it. It feels more like a burn than a shock, but it is uncomfortable. I did not want to injure any animals so I am happy to say I doubt it would cause any disability or lasting affects to even the smallest of animals.One of the main attractions was the very small size of the unit, making it easy to include in a small project box. If you are planning to use it for a project other than the designed use on a particular feeder, be aware to get the correct type of corresponding connectors or you will likely need to cut the connectors off.It works flawlessly and I am totally satisfied.
