   The Heisolcool light has 144 high power 5730 LED green lights. 5730 LEDs are some the largest used in these kind of lights. The green light falls in part of the spectrum that makes it seem quite intense compared with white light LED lights of equal numbers of LEDs using the same LED technology (5730 SMD).A nice feature of this light that some motion-activated lights do not have, is the ability to turn completely OFF when there is no motion detected. Some only reduce intensity, but are perpetually ON at night. This Heisolcool light gives you the option to operate in either that mode or in the mode where no energy is expended when there is no motion, and full intensity is triggered when there is motion detected.The Heisolcool is marginally more expensive than similar white lights (see chart).Why would one want a green light rather than a traditional white light? This light is advertised as an aid in dealing with certain nocturnal pests. Green motion-activated illumination has several advantages when compared to white light or no illumination: green light is less likely to alarm animals. Many animals, including deer, hogs, and coyotes, have limited sensitivity to green light, making them less likely to be startled than might otherwise occur with white light. Also, the human eye is more sensitive to green light in low-light conditions, improving visibility without excessive brightness. Further, unlike white light, green light does not dilate human pupils as much (although far more than red light), thereby helping observers maintain better night vision.

   Light works great and is bright, covering a large area and is responsive to the remote. Other than hog or other animal hunting, the green light would be a great effect for Halloween or Christmas displays. The product features listed on the box are amusing, stating the housing is made from aluminum alloy and it’s “ordinary waterproof”, but the listing accurately describes the housing as plastic. I also noticed the manufacturer added 4 small drain holes to the housing near the mounting rod, which is a nice touch as this is an area where water would pool if hung as instructed. Time will tell how well the “ordinary” waterproofing holds. I like that It’s solar, so no wiring, but whatever batteries are used are not replaceable so another unknown on how long this light will last. I would definitely buy another with a deep discount.

   Very easy to install and the solar panel powers it up fine. The light is bright and easy to see with. Good value for the price.
